Puckering up for a porker was the fate of one lucky person in Santa Maria and it was all for a good cause.
The honor went to Kim Graham, the Police Chief at Allan Hancock College. She got to kiss "Duke."
It was part of the "kiss a pig" contest. Twelve volunteers have been working to raise money for the last two weeks and they raised around $1,600. Bruce Gourley, multi-media services coordinator, said, "As everybody knows, funding for education on all levels is not what we like it to be and this is a way for the staff and the faculty and the students to try to do something to help out students and do it from the inside."
Part of the money will go to the Scholarship Foundation which this year will give out close to $230,000 to students.
