Renowned guitarists from around the world are on the Central Coast this weekend for La Guittara California Festival.
It's a three-day musical festival celebrating the guitar.
15 artists will perform in nine concerts. There are also master classes, a free lecture, and guitar exhibitions.
"We realize that what people want out of this instrument is to hear it, and if you ask any classical guitarist, including me, why they got into this instrument, they'll all tell you the same thing: it was the sound. The sound of the instrument is just captivating," said Russ De Angelo, the festival director.
Andrew York, who has been recognized as one of the world's most innovative classical guitarists and composers, performs Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.
The festival also continues Sunday at Cal Poly.
