Discussions of pay cuts and pensions have come to an end between the City of San Luis Obispo and Police Staff Officers and Battalion Chiefs.

The groups have agreed to reduce salaries by 7.5%. The cuts will be phased in, starting with a 5% salary cut in July of this year, and an additional 2.5% cut in July 2013.

An employee-employer relations officer was called in to help work out an agreement. Santa Maria Police and Fire are also considering pay cuts Tuesday night at the City Council meeting.
