The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says it eradicated more than 4,000 marijuana plants Thursday found on private property.
Sheriff's officials say the landowner recently discovered that someone had trespassed onto the property, diverted water meant for livestock, and was illegally growing marijuana.
The property is located along Santa Rosa Road, between Lompoc and Buellton.
The Sheriff's Office estimates the street value of the plants at about $12 million.
