Larger trucks will have to find an alternate route from Highway 135 to Lompoc.

The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday to adopt an ordinance that would ban trucks over 30 feet in length from traveling on the Harris Grade.

The designated alternate route will be Highway 1.

Public Works and the California Highway Patrol pushed for the restriction after seeing a spike in accidents last year.
The ordinance will take effect in about a month.
