The Fort Hunter Liggett Fire Department spent Tuesday afternoon working to contain a large vegetation fire.

Fire officials say the fire burned approximately 300 acres.

Fire Chief Steve Scruton expects to gain full containment by daybreak Wednesday morning.

The fire was burning in a high brush area but no structures are threatened and there are no reports of any injuries
