Gun sellers throughout the country have seen a huge spike in sales since the shooting in Connecticut and calls for increased gun control, and those increased sales have hit home too. At the Santa Maria Gun Show this weekend, sellers say they're seeing the largest crowds they've ever had.
"You know when I got here, there was a line that I could not believe. I'd never seen this before," said Ron Tremper of Arroyo Grande.
Local gun shop owners say the high turnout is because people are afraid they'll lose their right to own a gun and because guns are offered at good prices at the show.
"There's lots of things to buy. They have a good selection. The prices are in the ballpark," said John Stanko, a customer at the event.
But because of the increased crowds, many sellers are worried they'll run out of supplies.
The show continues Saturday and Sunday at the Santa Maria Fairgrounds. Admission is $9.
