Vandenberg Air Force Base is planning a test of its missile defense system.
Crews there are scheduled to launch a ground-based interceptor missile Friday sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 3:37 p.m.
The goal for the missile is to intercept a dummy missile launched from the Marshall Islands.
The system is intended to protect the country from the threat of long-range ballistic missile attacks.
