LAX water declared safe after contamination

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The water's been declared safe at a Los Angeles International Airport terminal after contamination caused a daylong shutdown.
City News Service says the water in Terminal 6 got the all-clear at 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
Airport spokeswoman Nancy Suey Castles says a contractor working in a pump room notified airport operations that recycled air conditioning water contaminated a water line Wednesday morning.
Officials covered water fountains and bathroom sinks and closed down food concessions. Portable sinks were installed in restrooms and the airport distributed food, snacks and bottled water to passengers and workers.
The water was declared safe after the terminal's water lines were flushed and the water tested.
