Lee's 4 RBI effort leads Blues to come-from-behind win over Brewers

University of Tennessee first baseman Andrew Lee capped a 4 for 4 effort at the plate with the game-winning 2-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the San Luis Obispo Blues to a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the Los Angeles Brewers on Sunday.

Lee not only drove in the Blues' last two runs of the game, but he doubled in the team's first two runs in the second inning.

The 11th ranked Blues improved to 36-15 on the season, 26-4 at home and 19-13 in California Collegiate League play. The Brewers dropped to 18-13 in league.

After Lee gave the Blues an early 2-0 lead with his double, the Brewers answered with a 3-run double from Caleb Whalen to take a 4-2 lead. San Luis Obispo tied it in the sixth inning when Michael Pritchard scored on a throwing error from the third baseman. Derek Miller later scored on a ground out by Cody Jones to even the score at 4-4.

LA regained the lead in the eighth with a run off a wild pitch. Jones tied it 5-5 with a double in the left-center field gap to plate Pritchard in the bottom of the eighth. Lee followed with a 2-run single by the drawn-in first baseman to score Miller and Jones and give the Blues the lead for good 7-5.

Blues closer Drake Owenby held the Brewers to one run in the ninth inning to earn the save. and the Blues won the game 7-6.

Lee led the Blues' 12-hit attack. Pritchard added 3 hits, while he and Miller both scored 3 times. Aaron Attaway collected 2 hits.

The Blues will be back in action with a key three-game home series against the Santa Barbara Foresters beginning Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Foresters lead the Blues by one game in the CCL North Division standings. The two rivals shared the CCL title in 2011 and 2012. The Foresters went on to win national championships in both of those seasons.
