The community came together Friday to honor a local boy and raise money for childhood cancer research.
A fundraiser was held at Grover Heights Elementary School in Grover Beach.
A group of local moms joined efforts to honor eight-year-old Sam Jeffers, who has inoperable brain cancer. They partnered with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to host a bake sale and lemonade stand.
"All donations, no matter how big or small, are accepted and really make a difference toward a very under-funded cancer," said Harmony Brown, a Lemonade Mom.
