Lemonade stand to raise funds for childhood cancer research

A special event will be held Friday at Grover Heights Elementary School in Grover Beach to honor a local boy and raise money for childhood cancer research.

Eight-year old Sam Jeffers has inoperable brain cancer. A group of local mothers has joined efforts and partnered with the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to hold the event in his honor.

They will be selling lemonade, cookies, cupcakes, candy, and lemons. There will also be live music.

The event takes place from 2:00 to 6:30 pm on September 27 at 770 North 8th Street in Grover Beach.
