Two African lionesses made their debut at the Santa Barbara Zoo on Tuesday. The two-year-old lionesses, named Kadi and Neema, will be on view on Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. They arrived last month from the National Zoo in Washington, DC. Zookeepers hope the lionesses will eventually mate with the zoo's male African lion, Chadwick, as part of a breeding program.
Also making their debut this week are two fennec foxes. Brothers Bill and Andy are among the world's smallest foxes.
