Local Businesses, Cal Poly prep for large crowds this weekend

It's Cal Poly's Parent and Family Weekend, and school officials and the community are preparing for larger crowds in San Luis Obispo.
The weekend event is packed with activities designed to showcase what Cal Poly has to offer its students. Guests can attend a tailgate and football game on Saturday, Cal Poly's Oktoberfest, different performing arts events, and department sessions designed to teach parents about their child's major.
The weekend is great for Cal Poly, and it's also great for local businesses. Many local hotels tell us they've sold out of rooms. At the Holiday Inn Express in San Luis Obispo, they were at 70% capacity over a month ago. Now, they're completely sold out, and they say at least half of their guests this weekend are Cal Poly parents.
Next weekend, school officials are also expecting large crowds for the Cal Poly Homecoming football game.
