A local charity is helping families who are dealing with substance abuse.

DIG, which stands for diversified intervention group, is holding an intervention and recovery training session beginning Monday at Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo.

The course teaches people intervention techniques where alcohol and drugs are involved.

Proceeds will benefit families in need.
