The Cal Poly men's basketball team lost, 73-71 to Pacific at the Global Sports Hardwood Challenge hosted by the University of Oregon. Mustang senior guard Kyle Oddister missed a shot to tie at the buzzer. Chris Eversley led Cal Poly with 22 points and 10 rebounds. The 2-4 Mustangs beat North Dakota on Friday at the Classic, they'll play 14th ranked Oregon on Sunday at 7:00pm.
The Hancock men's basketball team captured the two-day Bakersfield Tournament with an 82-79 win over Merritt in the championship game. Teyvon Myers led a trio of double-digit scorers as the Bulldogs rallied from seven points down in the final five minutes. They improve to 5-3.
The Cal Poly women's basketball team beat San Francisco, 76-65 to improve to 4-4. The Mustangs won both of their games at the two-day Holiday Beach Classic they hosted at the Mott Athletics Center. Senior Molly Schlemer scored 21 points on 9-12 shooting, the Righetti High School graduate also hauled down 10 rebounds. Cal Poly hosts CSU Bakersfield next Saturday.
The UCSB women's basketball team let a nine point second half lead slip away in a 71-67 loss to San Diego State. The Gauchos were led by senior Nicole Nesbit who scored 22 points. UCSB's record is now 3-3.
