Local dancer competing for scholarship in Culver City

A local dancer is heading to Culver City to compete for a scholarship at the California-Nevada District Exchange Club Search for Talent Competition.

Destiny Cloud, 11, of Oceano, won first place at the regional talent competition in Pismo Beach in March.

She's competing against several musicians at the district show Friday. She'll perform a solo dance to "Number 13" from "A Chorus Line."

"I've devoted my life to dance. I have so much fun working with all my teachers. They've made it an amazing experience," said Cloud.

If she wins, Destiny says she'll use the scholarship money to pay for college and film school.
