Local farmers keep produce prices low despite recent frost

The recent frost has caused a price hike on produce, but local farmers are doing their best to keep prices down.
At the San Luis Obispo Farmer's market Thursday night, prices were still fairly low.
According to Jose Reyes of Cortez Farm in Santa Maria, they plan to keep their prices low, but it's been tough. "We try to get our best produce to the market and keep prices low. Pretty much, a lot of people raise prices, but not us. If we can get money out of what we do right now, that's fine with us," said Reyes.
Reyes says lettuce, green beans, and spinach crops have been hit the hardest by frost in recent weeks.
