Not only does Nipomo Firefighter, John Bryne, save lives from burning buildings, now he is pedaling more than 3,600 miles to help his sister.

John started his journey on September 9th at the San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. He will travel across the United States to New York's Brooklyn Bridge. Along his journey Bryn will sleep in fire stations and raise money to purchase his sister an adapted vehicle. His sister Lauren Bryne was 15 years old when she injured her spine and nearly drowned after jumping into the pool.

At last checked John was 58 miles outside of Bakersfield. He is expecting to arrive in New York on October 14th.
