A local firefighter cycling more than 3500 miles across country to raise money for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for his sister has reached Kern county. Kern county fire crews welcomed him and are playing hosts to John Bryne tonight.

Bryne rode more than 100 miles today, and so far has already raised more than $32,000. He took off from San Francisco this past weekend. To follow him on his journey, click here.
