Local firefighters battle the Rim Fire

Some Central Coast fire crews are out fighting the Rim Fire.

The Five Cities Fire Authority sent out a Wildland Unit last Wednesday.

They're just part of the more than 4500 firefighters battling the flames.

They might want to keep the Wildland Unit with the crew intact for three weeks. Typically crews are prepared to be gone at least two weeks," said Chief Mike Hubert.

The San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services also sent a crew to the Rim Fire.

They left for Tuolomne County last Friday.
