The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is planning remembrance ceremonies marking the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.
One ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 11 at the department headquarters on Cathedral Oaks Road starting at 9 a.m. The ceremony will pay tribute to the 343 members of the New York City Fire Department who died in the line of duty after the attacks on the World Trade Center.
Also on September 11th, local residents are invited to attend a brief ceremony at any of the 16 Santa Barbara County Fire Stations. Those ceremonies begin at 6:58 a.m., the time the first plane struck the first tower of the World Trade Center.
