A documented Santa Maria gang member was arrested earlier this week for perjury.
Twenty-year-old Arturo Granados testified in his own defense as he took the stand in a Santa Maria Superior Court room back in February.
Gang detectives opened an investigation after he testified.
Evidence gathered led authorities to believe that Granados lied on the stand.
He was arrested on Friday for perjury and a gang enhancement, and was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.
Bail has been set at $100,000.
