Some local girl scouts were raising money to help other girls "go for the gold" Friday evening.
It was all for the annual Girl Scout Reverse Draw and Buffet Dinner at the San Luis Obispo Veteran's Hall.
The event serves as a fundraiser for girl scout scholarships and featured six girls from around the Central Coast who have received the highest honor possible for a girl scout, the Gold Award. That award is given for community service.
Organizers hope Gold Award winners will inspire other scouts to change their communities for the better.
"The funds raised here tonight will help support our local girls to take that journey with us, and to be members of this community that lead and take action and improve everything about our world," said Jax Rains-Turk. There are more than three million girl scouts across the United States.
