Central Coast residents could soon be on the ice in paradise.
At an official ceremony Friday afternoon, Mark Lineham, Kimberly Schizas and the Wynmark Company will hand over a $1.3 million piece of land in Goleta to the Greater Santa Barbara Ice Skating Association (GSBISA). That group will, in turn, begin building a state-of-the-art public ice skating rink. The piece of land is located on Santa Felicia behind the Home Depot Store at Girsh Park.
The GSBISA has launched an $8 million fundraising campaign for the development of the rink. To learn how you can help, click here.
