Local hospital becomes accredited cancer center

The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center has earned accreditation as a Community Hospital Cancer Program.
According to the hospital, it is the only cancer program in San Luis Obispo County to be awarded this honor by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
Combining oncology, outpatient surgery, diagnostic technology and administration services, the center opened its doors in June of 2008 serving as a one-stop care center for cancer patients.
A celebration will be held March 31 at the center's location 921 Oak Park Boulevard in the Pismo Medical Campus from 5-6 p.m.
