Local hospitals make clinical excellence list

HealthGrades released its clinical excellence hospital rankings.
The report gives five stars to those hospitals whose risk adjusted mortality rates or complication rates were lower than other hospitals.
262 hospitals made the cut out of 1,900 eligible for consideration.
Noticeably not on the list are some big name hospitals such as Cleveland Clinic, May Clinic's Methodist Hospital, and John Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore.
Among those that made the list are French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Lodi Memorial Hospital, Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Mercy Medical Center Redding, Sequoia Hospital, Mercy General Hospital, St. Bernardine Medical Center, and Saint Joseph's Medical Center of Stockton.
