Some local kids and families got a jump start on summertime activities Saturday.
The Santa Maria Valley YMCA hosted its Healthy Kids Day.
The family-friendly event was free to attend.
Guests could get free medical screenings and enjoy activities like a climbing wall, obstacle course, and zumba lessons.
The local wildlife organization Zoo to You was also at the event with their animal ambassadors.
"The day consists of about 25 non-profits coming together and offering services. Throughout the day, people come and go. We get anywhere from 1000 to 1500 people that come and utilize these valuable services," said Lisa Niedrauer, the Associate Director for the Santa Maria Valley YMCA.
