Several local law enforcement agencies are kicking off their Memorial Day weekend crackdown on drunk drivers.
On Saturday night officers in Grover Beach will hold a driver's license and DUI checkpoint on Grand Avenue between 9th and 10th streets. Patrol cars will also be out this weekend near the state parks in SLO County.
The "Avoid the 14" DUI campaign will have officers at the checkpoints countywide to arrest impaired drivers. The CHP says it is using all available officers this weekend on freeways and county roads.
