According to the California Highway Patrol, four out of five children's car seats aren't installed correctly.

To solve the problem, the Santa Maria California Highway Patrol hosted its Central Coast Baby Expo on Saturday.

Locals were invited to bring their child's seat in and have it adjusted or installed by professionals.

"Officers back here have received 40 hours of training over how to install and inspect and adjust child safety seats," said Michael Hennessey, a CHP Officer.

If you missed the event, Hennessey says local CHP offices are required to set aside time for car seat appointments at least one day a week. You can call your local office to set up a time.
