Local Law Enforcement steps up DUI patrols for Saint Patrick's Day

A number of DUI checkpoints are taking place today.
The Santa Maria Police Department has several officers out looking for drunk drivers. They set out at 12 p.m. today and will continue until 10 p.m. tonight.
The Santa Barbara Police Department is also on the lookout for drunk drivers. They're conducting DUI Checkpoints throughout the county until 2 a.m. The department also deployed special travelling DUI patrols.
