A local Marine got a surprise welcome home from more than 80 people this weekend, many of them complete strangers.
Welcome Home Military Heroes rallied the group for a different kind of welcome than they're used to, instead of greeting Marine Lance Cpl. Corey Bratt at the airport or train station, the group showed up at his front door in Los Alamos.
Bratt just returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He turned 21 while overseas.
The group gathered down the street until Bratt's mother gave them the all clear. Then, holding flags, posters and signs, they moved in for the surprise.
Bratt has received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
