A Central Coast mother needs your help this weekend building her dream yard.
Colleen McBride is a wife, a mother to a toddler, and a cancer fighter. She has a rare form of cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. After several surgeries and tumors removed from behind her eye, the cancer has not given up yet.
But neither has McBride.
One place she says she finds peace in the middle of the chaos and medical appointments, is outdoors with her family. So, McBride's friends have organized a garage sale this Saturday where you can make someone else's trash your treasure.
100% of the proceeds will go toward building McBride's family a brand new, fully landscaped back yard.
"It's support, it's people. We need each other and when someone reaches out, it means the world." said McBride.
The garage sale is at McBride's home Saturday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., at 817 Vista Brisa Street in San Luis Obispo.
The goal is to have the yard complete by Thanksgiving, but McBride says there is no strict timeline. She also has a strong support base at home. Her husband, Danny, has been by her side every step of the way.
"She is absolutely the most amazing person I have ever met," said Danny McBride, Colleen's husband. "Her strength is humbling. She is just incredible. She's just the most resilient, tough mom, I've ever met in my life. She only gets stronger. She's amazing."
