Local moms try to break world record for most moms breastfeeding simultaneously

It's World Breastfeeding Week, and moms around the world are trying to break the record for the most moms breast feeding at the same time.

Here on the Central Coast, about 35 moms met up at French Hospital Saturday morning to breastfeed at the same time. Other groups around California met up to do the same thing.

Those numbers will be added to numbers from around the world to determine if they've broken a record.

"Every single day that a mother chooses to breast feed her child or is able to breast feed her child is a gift in lifelong health for that child," said Jennifer Stover, a Child Birth Educator.

The day was sponsored by Labor of Love and "Whole"istic Mamas and Papas.

Organizers should know if a record was broken sometime Saturday evening.
