While some have been busy for weeks preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday, others are just getting started and running out of time. We found a lot of procrastinators at the grocery store tonight.

If you're Thanksgiving shopping isn't done, you're not alone.

"We still have some of the fresh turkey's in the back, so I guess people are kinda like me, waiting until the last second," said Jeff Zarling, an employee at Spencer's Market in San Luis Obispo.

Michelle Miller was putting the finishing touches on her shopping list.

"I did major shopping two days ago and I forgot last minute ingredients for pies and rolls," Miller said.

Then again, Spencer's Market saw many people who had a lot of catching up to do. Employees said the store was busier this year than last.

"Just checked out a few that had not started on it at all, and there's a few that were just having a small get together with one or two friends things like that, and college kids that couldn't go back," Zarling said.

While some people feel bad about doing their last minute holiday shopping and swear they'll never do it again, others embrace it as an annual tradition.

Reporter: Do you feel bad about the procrastination?

"No, I kinda nurture it," said William Preston of San Luis Obispo.

Reporter: Does this happen every year?

"Absolutely!" Preston said.

But no matter what you're buying or when you're buying it, add a few friends, some family and you've got a recipe for a happy Thanksgiving.

If you just realized thanksgiving is tomorrow, you still have time. Spencer's Market is open tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We want to know if you've finished your Thanksgiving shopping. Check out our KSBY Facebook page and let us know your shopping habits.
