Mark Twain once said of the banjo, It'll "ramify your whole constitution like the measles, and break out on your hide like the pinfeather pimples on a picked goose."
Wednesday, you can see two of the best banjo players in the world, jamming together at UCSB.
The duo plays a mix of traditional and original songs.
Over the years, Bela Fleck has won 14 Grammys, and Abigail, who's also his wife, has won all sorts of critical acclaim for her clawhammer-style banjo playing and work as a vocalist and trail-blazing composer, who's even written banjo music in Chinese.
Bela and Abigail will take the stage at Campbell Hall on the UCSB campus at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The performance is sponsored by UCSB Arts and Lectures.
