Local students are helping other students as part of the first annual "Empty Bowls" luncheon in Paso Robles.
With help from the Food Bank Coalition, Paso Robles students raised more than $2,000 at Monday's luncheon. The money will benefit a new program called the Lovin' Lunchbox. The program provides meals during the Summer months for kids who would normally receive free or reduced lunches at school.
In addition to lunch, attendees also got a handmade bowl at Monday's event. Organizers hope to provide some 50,000 lunches to children in need by Summer's end.
