Local students got a chance to learn about engineering Friday at Cal Poly.
It was all part of EPIC, or Engineering Possibilities in College. It's an annual summer program that teaches middle schoolers and high schoolers about job opportunities in engineering.
On Friday, ninth grade campers learned how to build small working rockets. The Dean of the Cal Poly College of Engineering, Debra Larson, also met with campers and posed for pictures.
On August 2, 12th grade campers will showcase their work. Cal Poly President Jeffrey Armstrong will also be speaking with the campers that day.
