A local woman from Colorado Springs talked to KSBY about growing up there.
Amy Jacobs has lived in San Luis Obispo for at least 10 years is leaving thursday to go back to Colorado Springs to see her parents, who have been evacuated.
"It's devastating to see this thing happen to people I know, their houses, people I know have lost their houses, I've seen it on TV, I'm seeing it happening and when you think about it happening to people I know and it could happen to my family next, and it'll just be gone," said Amy Jacobs, Jacob's Family Evacuated.
Her family does know that their house is still intact, because they call their house and the answering machine picks up. That means the power hasn't been cut, and their house is safe.
