Local WWII vet remembered

The community paid its respects to a local World War II veteran on Friday.

A memorial service was held in San Luis Obispo for Hazel McNett.

She was the first member of American Legion Post 66 and its first female commander.

American Legion members welcomed her family and friends to her service with a flag line.

McNett served as an Army nurse on the front lines of World War II.
