The valleys and mountains of SLO county is forecasted to have some locally poor air quality due to the hot clear weather in combination with pollutants transported into SLO county from outside the area, Ozone levels are expected to be higher than the federal air quality standard.
The area of greatest concentration is the Red Hills, Carrizo plains and eastern SLO mountains. Moderate concentrations are possible in Santa Margarita, Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, Shandon, Creston and surrounding communities.
Additionally smoke from the Turkey Fire near Parkfield may add to the poor air quality.
Closer to the coast the forecast is as follows:
Wednesday, Jul 11: 37 AQI Good Ozone
Thursday, Jul 12: 28 AQI Good Ozone
Friday, Jul 13: 27 AQI Good Ozone
Saturday, Jul 14: 25 AQI Good Ozone
Sunday, Jul 15: 24 AQI Good Ozone
The Air Quality Forecast is provided by the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District.
