Locals learn about railroad history at Central Coast Railroad Festival

The San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum hosted its Central Coast Railroad Festival Saturday in honor of National Train Day.

Guests could enjoy three family train rides starting in Grover Beach, San Luis Obispo, and Paso Robles.

The museum also hosted an event at its Historic Freight House. There, guests could take advantage of speeder rides, walking tours, and even check out railroad artifacts and train models.

"You know, it's a bit of history. I've never run into anybody that doesn't like trains. From little kids to big kids, they all like things that move, that make noise, whistles, all the smoke and bells. They just love it," said Brad LaRose, the President of the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum.

The San Luis Obispo Amtrak Station also got in the spirit. It hosted a series of railroad exhibits and had live music.
