Locals 'made strides' against breast cancer this past weekend

People were gearing up for the Annual Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk this past weekend.
An event was held at the Madonna Inn on Saturday as a way for people to form teams and raise money.
At last year's walk, a total of 35 teams helped to raise $37,000.
"We want to find a cure and the only way we can do that is to raise funds and to show awareness in our community so that we can fight back and win the battle of cancer. Not only breast cancer but all cancers," said Patrice Niles, the co-chair of Making Strides.
This year, the walk is on October 27 at Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo.
