Representative Lois Capps is set to attend the dedication ceremony for the new Warren J. Baker Center for Science and Mathematics Friday.
The Baker Center will house the Physics, Chemistry, Natural Resources Management, and Environmental Sciences Departments, as well as the Kenneth N. Edwards Coatings Technology Center, the Center for Applied Biotechnology, and the Institute for Advanced Technology and Public Policy.
"A highly educated workforce is critical to competing in the global economy. The leadership at Cal Poly realizes this and with this new building shows its dedication to providing students an education that prepares them for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics," said Capps.
The building is 189,000 square feet.
The dedication ceremony takes place Friday from 4 to 5 p.m.
