The newly renovated Lompoc Animal Shelter has a new name.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday at the La Purisima Animal Welfare Services or "LAPAWS."
The shelter was originally a family's home. Now, it's able to serve over 4500 people and 1300 animals.
It also meets requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
The renovation cost $450,000.
It was largely funded by donations and grants.
