Tuesday night, the Lompoc City Council voted unanimously to pass an ordinance banning aggressive panhandling in the city.
The council will finish approving the ordinance at the next City Council meeting in January.
The ordinance should go into effect sometime in February.
It will make it illegal for panhandlers to linger in front of ATM's, banks, parking garages, parking lots after dark, bus stops, and public restrooms.
