The 29th Annual National Night Out Event and festivities were held all over the United States Tuesday night, including in Lompoc.
The idea is to get neighbors to know each other and police officers in friendly environments.
It is all an effort for neighbors and police to work together to fight drugs, violence, and gangs.
"We want to definitely stress an outgoing community is a safe community in partnership with us we can solve the crimes that are happening in their neighborhoods," said Lucas Signorelli, the city's Community Services Officer.
Police vehicles were on display along with crime prevention materials.
