The Lompoc Police Department is holding two DUI checkpoints this week in an effort to crackdown on drunk drivers. The checkpoints will take place in Lompoc on Saturday, January 30 and Monday, February 1.
Police will be stopping vehicles between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. at an undisclosed location in the city. All vehicles passing through may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs may be arrested. The police department hopes to increase awareness of the dangers of drunk driving and encourage sober designated drivers by holding the checkpoints.
