The Lompoc Police Department will be holding two DUI checkpoints on Sunday, January 30 and Thursday, February 3. Both will start at 6:00 PM and will be located somewhere in Lompoc. They will receive funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety.

Lompoc Police announced this decision with the hopes that they will be able to curb rates of drunk driving in the area.

The department also advises drivers to follow certain steps to avoid drunk driving. These steps include planning a safe way home ahead of time, designating a sober driver, calling sober friends or family when needed, and using taxis and public transportation.
