Lompoc High junior defensive end Ainuu Taua was the lone representative from the Central Coast on the Los Angeles Times' 2012 high School football All-Star Team that came out on Tuesday.
The 6-1, 285 pound lineman was a dominant force on the line for the Braves, who finished 12-1 and lost in the CIF semifinals to eventual CIF State champion Serra.
Taua recorded 49 tackles, 1 interception returned for a touchdown, forced 2 fumbles and had 7 sacks his junior year.
He was named the Los Padres League's Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2012.
Taua is regarded as one of the top defensive line recruits in the nation from the Class of 2014. According to recruiting websites, Taua has received offers from UCLA, Cal, Hawaii, Arizona, Washington, Utah and Vanderbilt.
